Rockaway

Many scenes from The Station Agent, a movie from 2003 were filmed in Rockaway Township, starring Peter Dinklage who later appeared in Game Of Thrones. Although Rockaway does not have a train station it does have bus service to New York through Lakeland Bus Service and commuters can travel to nearby Denville or Dover to catch service to Hoboken/New York City. 

Children attend the elementary and middle school in town and then move on to attend the Morris Hills High School with students from some sections of Rockaway Township and Wharton. The Morris County Vocational High School is located here as well. 

Rockaway Borough was separated from the Township
